Shell ATF 134 is the Mercedes-Benz factory-specified automatic transmission fluid for Sprinter 5-speed and standard 7-speed 722.9 transmissions. This fluid meets the Mercedes-Benz 236.14 specification and is formulated to protect clutch packs, solenoids, and the torque converter under the heavy-duty demands of commercial van operation. Do not substitute with generic ATF — incorrect fluid can cause shift quality problems, solenoid damage, and transmission failure. Note: The 7-speed 722.9 with the A89 reduced-friction code requires ATF 134 FE (Blue) instead.
